I’m updating my map with bits I get from here and there. Unless someone thinks it’s important for me to continue this effort, I’m only going to update once or twice a day now. I’ll leave this topic with some (uncommonly?) direct comments on how people view events like this.

There are power fluctuations so the network and phones keep going down. Seems like it’s only happening in one part of the building - weird. We’re a couple miles from the action but the air is rich with the smell of burning wood and some people are having issues with it irritating their eyes and minor throat irritation.

I’m having a helluva time getting good info from government or reporting services to update my map in the first blog entry. You’d think some official website would have updates to the hour. In this immediate area I don’t think we’re in danger but not knowing what’s going on is definitely unnerving.

As of this moment it doesn’t look like the Santiago Canyon fire will be contained anytime soon.

We just got an email from Microsoft titled "Important Daylight Savings Time Update for Developers". (I found the same information at the link provided.) It discusses Visual Studio, Visual Source Safe, the .NET Framework, and C++ apps that reference time zones.

Remember that USA Daylight Saving Time now ends on March 11, 2007 (second Sunday of March at 2:00AM), and re-starts on November 04, 2007 (first Sunday of November at 2:00AM). See other articles in the Time category of this blog for details, patches, etc. The information briefly provided here has been gathered since the last note on this DST topic.

At 2am on Sunday October 29th, 2006, set your clocks back one hour if you’re in DST. But that’s not all !
