There are power fluctuations so the network and phones keep going down. Seems like it’s only happening in one part of the building – weird. We’re a couple miles from the action but the air is rich with the smell of burning wood and some people are having issues with it irritating their eyes and minor throat irritation.
I’m having a helluva time getting good info from government or reporting services to update my map in the first blog entry. You’d think some official website would have updates to the hour. In this immediate area I don’t think we’re in danger but not knowing what’s going on is definitely unnerving.

24|Oct|2007 1Oh, one of the power spikes zapped a surge protector, so every time I put a load on that power strip, anything connected to it goes down. Sigh.
