I was originally impressed with the WordPress WYSIWYG editor – then I saw limitations. Now, as with every aspect of WP, it seems this area can be customized or replaced altogether, so I guess I’ll find an adequate solution soon. 🙄 A very important feature for me is the ability to post code for others to see. It looked like the WP interface required this to be done with PRE tags. I checked out the editing info at WordPress. I was looking for a more sophisticated editor but according to that it seems I may actually be using the more sophisticated editor. That page is obviously talking about a pre-2.0 release of WP. I found some other info that will allow me and others posting here to do this effectively using either the default interface or a plugin. When I have time I’ll see if I can use fckeditor. I guess one of these days soon I’ll start volunteering to update some of the WP Codex docs. My problem is finding the time to do so. Their problem is getting a decent search engine to categorize their wealth of features and concepts – their searching via Yahoo! really stinks.
